Doris J. (Campbell) Shomo

Doris J. Shomo, 93, Lorain Boro, died March 23, 2023 at Forest Hills Personal Care Home. Born October 23, 1929 in Johnstown. Daughter of Lester and Gladys (Strayer) Campbell. Preceded in death by parents, husband Harvey M. Shomo Jr., sister Evelyn J. Waters. Survived by children James (Marsha Dippolito), Johnstown, William L. (Cathy Tressler), Maryland, Carol (Randy Restauri) Johnstown; grandchildren Carlton Jay Shomo, Grayson Shomo, Laura Sorge, Tiffany Shomo and Brandon Restauri (fiance Alyssa), April Helbig, Ben Bernard, Michael Restauri (Amy), Deanna (Michael Dipko); great grandchildren Emma Bernard, Timothy Helbig, Matthew Sorge, Aaron Dipko, Kayden Russell; brother-in-law Robert L. Shomo (Eileen Weimer), Boothwyn, PA; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friend and cousin Marilyn Orris. She was a very active member of the Homestead Avenue United Methodist Church. Doris had many fond memories of her time spent as the little sister to the Screwball group. She loved to travel with her sister and quilt. She was a member of the YWCA Hydro class and the United Methodist Ladies Bowling League. She had a special relationship with her nephew Brad, who would visit Doris specifically and they would take trips together. She and her familly spent many summers boating and camping at Deep Creek Lake, MD. Friends will be received Sunday from 1:00 pm until time of funeral service at 3:00 pm at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, 2503 Bedford Street, Rev. Carol Hickman, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Homestead Avenue UMC. Interment Richland Cemetery.
