Mary Kendera Obituary

Mary L. Kendera, 98, Johnstown, formerly of Thomas Mills, died October 15, 2021 at the Allegheny Lutheran Home. Born June 4, 1923, in Johnstown, daughter of Frank and Veronica (Buhek)Koreltz. Preceded in death by parents; husband, John J.; sons, Blaine and John D.; and sisters, Florence Replogle, and Elsie Kovalchik. Survived by children, Donna (James Alexander); Mark; and James (Leslie Dahlstrom); daughter-in-law, Monica Kendera;granddaughters, Angela Kendera and Kristen Kendera; and nieces and nephews, Faye Jock, Rita Replogle, Patrick Replogle, and Daniel Martin. Mary was a life-long member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, and a graduate of Ferndale High School, Class of 1942. She worked at National Radiator Company for a brief time before marrying John in 1952, and becoming a full time farm wife and mother of five children. By request, there will be no viewing. A memorial mass will be announced and held at a later date. Interment, Thomas Mills Mennonite Cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford St. is in charge of arrangements.
