Mary Alice Quinn

QUINN- Mary Alice, 71, Johnstown. Fell into the comforting arms of her beloved Jesus on September 25, 2022 at Westmont Woods. She was born February 25, 1951 to James R. and Mabel (Derrick) Quinn in Johnstown. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister Miriam "Mimi" (Quinn) Alifano. She is survived by her seven brothers, James of Levittown, Thomas of Front Royal, VA, Michael (Linda Lambert) of Hollsopple, Stephen (Christine Ball) of Conemaugh Twp., Somerset County, John (Patricia Roberts) of Kulpmont, Timothy of Blue Bell and Kevin (Betty Ann Hankinson) of West Lake, FL. Also survived by her dear niece Beth Williams of Austin, TX. Mary Alice retired as Codes Enforcer of the City of Johnstown. She is a 1969 graduate of Bishop McCort High School. She was loved by her many, many friends who will miss her spontaneous laughter. She loved each and every friend as well as all her family members. Mary Alice said a few days before her passing..."Don't we have a wonderful family? How much more blessed can I be?" She lived 1,000 years in the 71 calendar years we had with her, because she attacked life with such intense gusto. Mary Alice was especially drawn to wildlife, feeding deer in her yard for years, before moving to Westmont Woods, where to the consternation of management, she created a bird sanctuary in the yard, outside her apartment. She sat at the doorway for hours, feeding an assortment of pigeons, sparrows, cardinals and especially her beloved crows and welcomed numerous chipmunks. We are so very blessed to have Mary Alice in our lives and will miss her terribly. So, don't be surprised if you are visited by birds, chipmunks or deer, which seem to appear out of nowhere. She will be there in one form or another. Mary Alice loved visiting Myrtle Beach, her "Ocean of Mercy." We believe she would say; "Don't cry because I'm gone, instead be happy that I was here and we will meet-up again soon, in our Father's Home. Today I am happy and I am dancing. I love you forever." Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 9:30 until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 at Visitation of the B.V.M. Church. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. John Henderson Co.
