Verna (Beegle) Blough

Verna Blough, 104, Martinsburg, formerly of Johnstown, passed away November 26,2022. Born August 17, 1918 in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late S. Bruce and Gertrude (Claar) Beegle. Preceded in death by 1st husband, Roy C. Keiper in 1956; second husband, Val Gene Blough in 1993; sisters, Mildred Mauk, Daisy Barley, Wilma Smith; and brothers, Emmert, and Melvin Beegle. Survived by nine nieces and nephews. Verna was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Martinsburg. She retired from the Johnstown School District in 1977 with 36 years of teaching. She was an active member of Franklin Street UM Church from 1964 until 2012. She was also active in Masonic orders and communtiy activities including Arbutus Park Manor. Services in Johnstown will be private, however a memorial service will be held 2:00 on Tuesday, November 29, in the chapel of Homewood, in Martinsburg.
